Other

There are many other lesser-known variants of Paganism and new ones are created all the time. Many of them are derived from Gardnerian Wicca, even though the practitioners do not realize or acknowledge that. Others come from (and this is a controversial area) 'fam-trads', i.e., information and practices handed down through the generations. The material, usually oral, is often simple folk-magic and folk beliefs. These are sometimes fleshed out for modern people by ceremonial elements borrowed from the magicians or from Wicca. (One theory about Gardner is that he became involved in a folk tradition of that sort, which he elaborated into the original Wicca through borrowings from ceremonial magic.)

One strand of Paganism that is syncretized from various sources is the Celt-Gael Tradition, as outlined on this site.

Anyone who would like their own version of Paganism to be included in our listing is urged to contact us. We want to be as inclusive as possible, and all of the foregoing material is not intended to exclude anything we didn't know to mention.
