PFPC *Sponsored Events

PFPC is proud to sponsor organizations and events of special quality and importance to Canadian Paganism. It is part of our mandate. Sponsoring to us means to promote, to inform about, and to predominately publicize at no cost to the event or organization. Where it is appropriate, we ask for mutual recognition but we do not require it.

Ottawa Pagan Meet & Greet, Networking and Contacts

On Saturday, July 9th at 2 pm, we are pleased to sponsor a special Wiccan/Pagan Day at the Classic Theatre Festival in Perth, Ontario.

A preview performance of the bewitching romantic comedy "Bell, Book and Candle," a 1950s classic that eventually became the inspiration for the television series "Bewitched." It follows the story of a witch, Gillian Holroyd, who struggles with the possibility that she may lose her powers if she falls in love. She is conflicted, both because she is "different" in a time of mass conformity, and because she also wants to honour her special powers.

This is an opportunity for Ottawa and Ottawa Valley and Eastern and even Central Ontario Pagan and Wicca groups to come to the theatre, spend time with one another, and bring materials for a lobby display as well as a program insert. In a society that still frowns on those who, like Gillian Holroyd, do not fit into the square peg of perceived "acceptability," we feel this is a great opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of professional summer theatre while celebrating a unique faith and its area practitioners.

Tickets to this special preview performance are only $24 – a great deal considering the Festival features some of Canada's top theatrical talent, including veterans of places like the Stratford and Shaw festivals.
